Who We Are?
NC District Women’s Ministries exists to serve Assemblies of God churches, pastors, and women ministering across North Carolina. In our state, we enjoy a vast variety of geography and landscapes. Within our borders, we have the diverse and distinct beauty of high mountains, the rolling hills of the Piedmont, the tall pines of our sandhills, the farmland of the coastal plain, and miles of coastline and beaches.
Much like the diversity of our geography, our Assembly of God churches are varied and unique. Within each assembly, one will find a distinct culture and flavor, and each of these unique churches has great value and potential to reach its community. Our department exists to equip churches and women to minister to women within their churches and greater community through their own unique culture.
In her book, Shepherding a Woman’s Heart, author Bev White Hislop asserts, “the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of women may be greater than at any previous time in the history of the United States.” We are more technologically connected and advanced, but many women are isolated, disconnected, and overwhelmed. Young girls and women are surrounded by the dominant message of our media that their value is most greatly measured by their outward appearance. It is imperative that our churches minister spiritual health to women within their walls, but also reach out to women in need of the love and mercy of our Savior in their communities.
